Attempted robbery in Northampton

Witnesses are being sought after an attempted robbery in Northampton, which happened on the evening of Wednesday, 15 March.

Two women waiting at the crossing on Wellingborough Road, opposite St Edmund’s Street, noticed a man standing next to them. As they crossed the man grabbed one of the women’s handbag, a struggle ensued, the woman kept hold of the bag and the offender ran off down St Edmund’s Street towards Cliftonville. 

The offender is described as a 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, 25-30 year old man with olive skin, a slim build and black hair swept back in an old-fashioned Elvis style, wearing a black fitted jacket and black trousers.
