More than 20 vehicles taken off the road following police operation in Daventry area

More than 20 vehicles have been taken off the road following a police operation in the Daventry area.
Wednesday's day of action saw police carry out 157 PNC vehicle checks and a similar number of driving licence and person checks.
In addition, 41 traffic offences were identified and dealt with and a total of 21 vehicles seized.
One of these included a stolen vehicle from a car key burglary in the Thames Valley Police area.
A total of three people were arrested, including one for burglary and another for possession of class B drugs and drug driving.
The operation, which ran between 8am and 8pm, was supported by Special Constables as well as officials from Northampton Borough Council's taxi licensing department.
A total of 16 private hire vehicles were checked and five of these were found to have serious defects.
