Speed monitoring device stolen from Northamptonshire village

April 21, 2017

Thieves have stolen a speed monitoring device installed by the Highways Agency in a Northamptonshire village.

The post was placed in Deanshanger Road, Wicken, to measure the speeds of motorists along the road where a 30mph limit is in place.

However, when officials returned to check the post on April 11, it was found to be stolen with just the mounting bracket left in place.

Subsequent inquiries confirmed the device was stolen some time between 10am on March 9 and 11.59pm on March 11.

Anyone with information about the theft should call call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
