Appeal for witnesses following a serious collision on the B645 near Higham Ferrers

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the B645 Chelveston Road, near Higham Ferrers.
The collision happened shortly after 8am this morning (Monday, April 9), when a silver Ford Fiesta, travelling towards Higham Ferrers, for reasons yet unknown, crossed onto the opposite carriageway and was in collision with a grey Skoda Octavia travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Fiesta, driven by an 18-year-old man, was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries. The Skoda driver, a 45-year-old man, was taken to Kettering General Hospital.
