Man arrested on suspicion of robbery and burglary

A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and burglary in relation to a number of incidents in the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire areas.
The 26-year-old-man, of Northampton, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary at a property in Yardley Drive, Leicester, on 11 March and on suspicion of robbery at a property in Timble Road, Leicester, on 11 March.
He has also been arrested on suspicion of 14 further burglaries which relate to incidents in the Northamptonshire and Thames Valley area.
The man has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property, absconding lawful custody and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He currently remains in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
Detective Chief Inspector Lee McBride of Northamptonshire Police, said: “The arrest of this 26-year-old man has been made in connection with a number of burglary offences in the Northamptonshire area which have targeted gold and jewellery.
“We have been working very closely with our colleagues in Leicestershire which has led to this arrest and we hope it provides some reassurance in the community.”
