Officers Gareth Cox and Richard Bathe are set to ride from Ypres, Belgium, to Northampton, in an impressive 270 mile cycle over a period of four days, in support of the Ride for Hope Challenge 2018.
The pair are hoping to raise money for the Hope Centre in Northampton, and will join more than 40 other cyclist, including Police and Crime Commissioner Stephan Mold, as they start the ride on Thursday, September 6.
Both officers have already surpassed their joint Just Giving target: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/garethcox0442
PC Gareth Cox, said: “This year’s ride is titled ‘Bringing the Troops Home’ to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1 and indeed the troops returning.
“We’re expecting it to be a gruelling four days, really pushing the boundaries and aiming high.
“I want to thank all the people who helped us achieve our fundraising target when we completed the ride last year and also those who have contributed this year. The money will really help towards the homeless in Northampton.”
